Yasemin Somuncu received her BArch degree in Architecture from Middle East Technical
University. She has several years of experience, awards and plaques in the profession after establishing her own company right after graduation. She received her MA in Environment and Energy Studies from the Architectural Association Graduate School in London, UK (AA). She has been a Senior Researcher in the Center for Energy Environment and Economy (CEEE) in Özyeğin University, İstanbul since March 2012 and is coordinating the FP7 Projects New Energy Efficient Demonstration for Buildings (NEED4B), Total Renovation Strategies for Energy Reduction in Public Stock (BRICKER) and Capacity Development for Future Builders (YENİ NESİL). Some of her collaborated publications are as follows: “Dimension of Energy Efficiency and Towards Zero İstanbul 2050”; “A Campus with Green Ideas: Özyeğin University Çekmeköy Campus”; “The Energy‐Efficiency‐Core Concept for a New Building”; “Integrated Engineering and Architecture for the Energy Efficient Academic Buildings”; “Brief Discussion of Energy Certification Systems for Buildings”; “An Application of Parabolic Trough Collector (PTC) System to a Hospital Building” and “YENİ NESİL”.
